Introduction to Canicross

Wow, I had the most amazing time yesterday. Mum took me on my first ever Canicross training run. We met up with some people and their dogs who I’ve never met before and did a run in The Chantries. To be honest, I was a bit nervous at first. Dad & Sidney weren’t there, so it was just me & Mum, plus all these new other dogs I met were making a lot of noise at the start and making me feel a bit stressed out. Then Mum put this weird harness on me which felt a bit odd at first. BUT, once we all set off, I really got into it and I have to admit I rather enjoyed it. I could sense Mum was loving it too which made me happy. It was great running in a pack, all us dogs and our owners. I got quite confident by the end & ended up running up front with a cool kelpie/collie cross called Henry.

Mum was so happy that as soon as we got home she was online ordering the Canicross kit for me and Sid. We were recommended a company called Kisi and Mum spoke to a nice lady called Sindy who is going to try and turn the order around quickly so we can go out again next weekend hopefully.

I told Sid all about it and he can’t wait to try it out too.

I did overhear Mum talking to her new friends about entering us into a race in a couple of weeks. Uh oh!
